Whimsy stamps DT call

Whimsy stamps is holding a design team call. I finished my submission this morning. I have had intentions all week to do this, but my parents were in town and we had FUN, so I made my card this morning. I am going to start submitting my work to magazines and applying for more design teams.... I'm a little scared to do it, because I hate rejection, but I need to do it more! This little duck is SO cute! I had fun coloring him - and he worked well with the bright springy papers I just got.

You can read more about the Whimsy DT call on Denise's blog, the Whimsy group on Papercraft planet or on SCS DT call page.

busy

I haven't done any crafting (other than cleaning up my area and coloring a couple of images) because my parents are in town!!!!

I will have a couple of pictures to post in the next couple of days of craft projects - we are almost out of the old house (today will be the last day of cleaning) and have everything pretty much organized at the new house now.

We have been sightseeing and enjoying our time together!

I'll leave you with a picture of the beer drinking pig. He is HUGE and was thirsty!!!

another card I made last week

Dog Gone stamps has GREAT images - their stamps are deep etched and already cut (I really detest cutting rubber - I NEVER do it right, then I have marks along the side and have to trim again). They just came out with some new BEAUTIFUL images too - the 1926 line is amazing!

This one is Fish and worm. I colored it with my SU watercolor pencils. The tiny bubbles cuttlebug folder was perfect for the look of bubbles in water for the card.
Supplies
Stamp: Dog Gone Fish and worm, Gina K baskets of happiness (sentiment)
Paper: Bo bunny winter whisper mist, Blue from stash

a couple days

I will be back in a couple of days. We just got the keys for the new house and will be moving all our stuff this weekend. We moved one car load tonight, and will be getting a LOT of it done tomorrow (I hope) 3 loads in a van should get us most of the way over there. Then I have Saturday/Sunday/Monday to clean up the area.

My parents are visiting next week, so I might be sporadic in posting as we will be having fun snorkeling and playing at the beach.

I have a couple cards made - if I could figure out how to do the delay posting, I would do that... but I haven't figured that out yet - so you'll all just have to wait!

argh...

Our internet is running REALLY slow yesterday and today. I have 4 or 5 cards to post, but it's SO stinking slow! Not sure if I'm going to be able to play much during Hip hop today.....

I did make this card last night though. There is a Scuba shop in town that normally has their dog "Scuba" in the store pretty much every day. They have a contest going right now.... to make a Valentine for the dog "Scuba" and they are going to judge them. The winner will win a $200 pair of snorkeling fins.....

Abby wanted to take a Valentine to Scuba, so we made this last night. Abby wants to carry it around with her all day today.

Stamp: CTMH doodle alphabet

The dog album is DONE! Well, almost

I still need to make a title page - but ALL the pictures are scrapped now! YIPPEE! I have been working on it for months now! I kept telling myself I would finish this week, then it would move to the next week, then to the next. Well, today I finished! I told myself this morning that I had to get the pages done before I made any more cards - it worked!

They have a cute little laminated card that the stamp can be stored on!

Ok - on to the card. There was a sketch challenge on Crafts 4 Eternity that I wanted to play along with. Mini tin album

I started this tin last night. I really wanted to use a bunch of Unity stamps because I LOVE their scrapbooking stamps. I had an extra tin sitting around and decided to decorate it and make a 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 album to go inside of it.

I put the "place photo here" in place of pictures. I'm sending it to a friend who will put it in the scrapbook store she manages - so I didn't want pictures of my dd in it! Oh - AND if anyone falls in love and just "has to have it", I am willing to sell it too. I can make another - it really didn't take too much time! The front - and a close up - I LOVE this bella - she is SO cute!

She is a guest designer at Limelight and has some really CUTE projects on her blog too!

Batter UP!

This is actually a sketch I found on Crafts 4 eternity. My friend Christy just joined their Design Team.

I used a Dog Gone Stamp - Batter up for this sketch. I know around here, baseball is a year round sport - so I drive by the field and there is a game almost every night! None of the teams around here have uniforms though - it's just for fun.

Paper: unknown - still trying to use up my stash!

You Amaze me - DGS Sketch #2

Jana has started weekly sketches on the DGS Papercraft planet group. You should all come play along - you don't have to use DGS, but if you have them, WHY not?

Oh yeah - Dog Gone stamps added their DOG stamps and they are SO cute!!! Check them out on their site HERE.

For this one, I used "Two Elephants" from Dog Gone stamps. I went a little bit Basic Grey Bittersweet CRAZY on this one! I LOVE the Bittersweet paper!

I paper pieced the elephants and used the same paper as the background on this one. The sketch was very simple and FUN to do!

Color challenge

Nichole at Papertrey is having a 2 year anniversary celebration! I can't believe PTI has been around for 2 years - I remember finding it about 5 months after they started and bought a couple stamp sets.

Today she issued a color challenge -the winner gets over $100 in PTI cardstock! That would be awesome to win!!! I doubt I will, but I wanted to play anyways. There are already over 100 people who are entered to win.

The challenge was to use: Pure poppy, summer sunrise, ripe avocado and ocean tides. I don't have any PTI cardstock yet - BUT she just released a really cool sampler pack - I will HAVE to order some when I have a budget again (or when the tax return comes in)

I used my PTI Wise owl set that I got for my birthday - I LOVE the owls! The big one is a "make your own" owl, so you can use different eyes, different noses, different bellies, etc. It is a fun set! I also pulled out my SU Die Cut Blooms for the first time (I had to rip open the packaging - I've had it for months)
Supplies
Stamp: PTI Wise Owl
Paper: SU Die cut blooms (Real red, bashful blue), SU Kiwi kiss, SU Apricot appeal
Accessories: Pop dots

Check this out!!!!

Carol at Paperplayce is giving away some great candy... I LOVE Penny Black acrylic stamps - they are awesome - and the rest is a total bonus! CUTE candy!

Hippin hoppin hangover!

As usual Thursday on the Unity SCS forum was FUN! I won a stamp, we chatted about cake, there was a bit of drooling over Jacquie's new avatar....

These cards were for the challenges yesterday. The first one was "Gel-tastic" unity. We were to use gel pens on the card. I pulled out my Sakura glaze pens and got to work on coloring. For the background, I cut 1/2 in strips of paper, then ran them through the cuttlebug with my swiss dots folder. Probably would have been easier to run the paper through BEFORE cutting it, but it worked.
Supplies
Stamps: Unity Love and meaning
Ink: Adirondack pitch black
Paper: SU whisper white, Unknown colored (using my stash)
Pens: Sakura glaze pens

The next challenge was "Get Tilted with Unity" - to put our main image at a tilt on the card. This one is HARD for me because I really like straight lines, but I did it and I think it turned out ok. I found some water paper - I'm pretty sure it is from a DCWV stack that I picked up at some point. I stamped the sand castle and the pail on Kraft paper thinking that it looks somewhat like sand.

Supplies
Stamps: Unity Beach days and Sun Rays
Ink: Adirondack Pitch black
Paper: SU Kraft, DCWV stack
Copics: B02, G05, YR16
Accessories: Black copic multi-liner pen for dots
