My favorite colors together at the moment

are Pink and Brown. Love them together. Actually green, blue, pink or purple go great with brown. I used the Whimsy pig for this one, because I could color her pink. I love the Whimsy animals - they are all so versatile!

Currently I am on a ferry headed up the coast of AK - I get motion sick, so I'm probably not having the best time right now. The ferry ride in the summer isn't too bad, but imagine the water in the winter...... ugh!

I'll be back to daily posting soon! We arrive at our final destination in a couple of weeks and will be settling in while dh heads out on the boat with his work for a while. Supplies

Happy new year! And Happy birthday!

Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! We are somewhere traveling across the US right now - we spent the New Years evening in a hotel. I am excited to get back to AK though, so traveling over the holidays isn't as bad as you would think!

For this card, I pulled out the Whimsy turtle, he is so fun! I needed a birthday card and paired the Whimsy turtle with some Basic Grey cupcake paper.

Chippety chipboard

I will admit it, this challenge was hard for me. I'm NOT a big fan of chipboard and hardly have any here except for mini-books that I make with the bind it all. Check out the Chip off the Block challenge on the Whimsy challenge blog this week so you can use up some of your chipboard.

I definitely needed a brown bear this week to go with the paper I was using. While I was coloring, dh came over and told me that even though I colored it brown, it still looked like a polar bear because each species of bear looks different. I told him I didn't care, he kept insisting that the brown bear looked funny because it was supposed to be a white polar bear.

The square with the sentiment is chipboard covered in some paper from the Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg collection - love this collection!

This challenge will be on for 2 weeks - we will be taking next Monday off for the holidays! Hope everyone has a great Christmas! See you in the new year! Supplies

I "stink" there is no color...

Black and white are considered colors, right? We had moves here last week and it's empty in the house! Dd is wondering where her toys are and I have a box of my craft supplies headed to meet me in AK when we get there.

The Whimsy challenge blog this week is to only use Black and White. I had to add a spot of pink to the skunks nose, it wouldn't have looked right without it. The skunk was perfect for this challenge, I didn't have to change it's original colors at all! Supplies

Its fleece was white as snow...

I have been busy lately - we're preparing to drive cross country at the end of the month and it's been crazy around here!

This weeks' challenge on the Whimsy challenge blog is to use die cuts. I pulled out my nestabilities to work on this challenge - I used the regular circle nesties and the inverted scallop nesties - they are kind of fun ! Pull our your die - cuts and join in on the challenge! Supplies

Green everything

Monochromatic is the challenge on the Whimsy challenge blog this week. I love monochromatic cards, but I always forget to turn to them when I am in need of some mojo boosting ideas. I need to write this down in my sketch book so I can remember!

I used the Whimsy frog and because most frogs are green, decided to do my card in all green. If there is one thing I will miss about this island is how green it is all year round (not the heat, just the green). I love having sun to take my pictures in too! Supplies

Anything but a card - Monkey around birthday bag

So, I struggled with what to make this week. The challenge on the Whimsy challenge blog this week is anything but a card, that is hard for me, I try to stick to cards or scrapbook pages most of the time. I love altering things, but rarely use stamps when I'm doing it.

I have a birthday coming up and needed a small bag for the gift - I knew that the Monkey image would be perfect for the recipient, so I went ahead and finished the bag. I used a medium white paper bag, covered it with BG granola paper and added my image. Supplies

Watercolor wonder

This week the Whimsy challenge blog is challenging us to use our watercolors. Since I got my copics, I barely pull out anything else for coloring. This week, I pulled out my watercolor pencils from SU and my blender pens to color the Whimsy Lion image. He looks ready for a big hug from someone!

Join in on the challenge - you don't have to use a Whimsy image, just watercolors on your card! Supplies

A"round" and a"round" and a "round" we go

Use circles on your creations for the Whimsy Challenge blog this week - that is the challenge. I cut out 9 circles behind my circle image to make a circle "flower". Rainy Day Emma looks adorable colored in ANY color and I wanted her to match the flower.

Remember to join in on the challenges - you don't have to use a Whimsy image and you just may be in the top 3 and get an ADORABLE blinkie (or an occasional prize) Supplies

A sketch for you

The Whimsy Challenge blog is offering up a sketch for you today - I love sketches! Each of them look SO different when they are done, even though they use the same sketch!

I really wanted to use some Halloween paper even though it doesn't feel like fall/Halloween here at all! It's still in the high 80's plus humidity here - I can't wait to feel some fall weather next week while I'm on vacation! I thought the Whimsy Owl might be a little "spooky" if I colored him grey. I have seen a grey owl and they are beautiful!Supplies

Embossing EVERYTHING

My 3 year old has an OBSESSION with my cuttlebug. If I'm making a card, she has to be sitting right next to me turning the crank on the cuttlebug. If I need to emboss something and put it through - it literally takes 2 minutes to get it through, but dd is using ALL her muscles to get it through the machine.

This card is for the Whimsy challenge this week - to use EMBOSSING. Not hard. I actually have two different pieces of embossed paper here. I used all paper from the BG Lime Rickey paper pack, embossed the orange with swiss dots ( a must have) and the yellow with the distressed stripes folder. The Whimsy duck needed some BRIGHT colors this weekend! I have been hit with allergies or something. Yesterday was the first time at my craft table for almost a week, it was SO nice to sit down and create again! Supplies

Use those punches/die cutting machines!

This weeks challenge on Whimsy challenge blog is to use your punches! I don't have many punches, but they consider Nesties as punches, so I used my nesties! I used the Love you mice from Whimsy, colored with my copics and found some CUTE paper from the Basic Grey lemonade paper pack. Some rhinestones added to the corners added just the right touch!

Please join in - I KNOW everyone owns a punch or a die cutting machine or nesties, so there is really no excuse NOT to join in this time! You don't have to use a Whimsy image either, but if you have one, you might as well! Supplies

Sugar and Spice AND Frogs and Snails

The Whimsy challenge blog has a great challenge this week - a boy or a girl card. I needed one of each and this was the perfect time to make them! I made them matching even though they are going to different people. Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see what the other designers have created!

I colored the Whimsy Lamb with copics, cut it with nesties and layered it on solid cardstock with the swiss dots pattern. I found some ribbon brads in my stash that "needed" to be used! Remember - you don't have to use a Whimsy stamp, but why not if you have one, use it!

Eyelets- I have TONS and have started using them!

The Whimsy stamps challenge blog has a challenge to USE YOUR EYELETS! I know you all have TONS, like me. I went nuts when I first started scrapbooking and bought pretty much every color of eyelets - they are all organized by color in a holder from CTMH. I know right where they are, just don't use them often.

I have used my eyelets TWICE this week. This one - I placed eyelets all the way around the middle circle - I used a nestie, drew a pencil circle and the punched the holes with my crop-a-dile II. I erased the pencil line and put the eyelets in - perfect circle that way!

Come join in on the challenge - you don't have to use a Whimsy stamp, but why not use it if you have it! Supplies
Stamp: Whimsy Lamb, Sentiment (susanament)
Ink: Momento
Paper: SU
Accessories: Copics, eyelets, nesties

Buttons everywhere!

Literally all over my house - there are buttons. Dd LOVED getting buttons as rewards - strange kid! They are all over, I'm constantly stepping on buttons!

This weeks challenge on the Whimsy Challenge blog is to add buttons. This was easy for me - I have tons of buttons AND just got the new Everyday button bits set from PTI. I used the Whimsy Hippo and added a bunch of balloons to his/her tail for a cute birthday wish!

Remember - you don't have to use a Whimsy image for the challenge - but if you have one - use it - Whimsy images are FUN!

fun fall colors

I will admit first thing that I haven't seen fall colors for over a year. We live in constant summer. The temperature difference is less than 10 degrees throughout the entire year here. I haven't seen anything other than tropical colors for a while -so if my card doesn't look very "fall" like, sorry!

I used the Whimsy hippo - love this image! I had some paper that I received free from an order that I placed, so I'm not sure where they paper is from. The red and yellow reminded me of fall...The flower is a Prima and the button is from a big bowl of buttons that I have on my shelf.Supplies

sew, sew, sew it on!

Sewing, not my favorite thing. I love how it looks on people's cards, but I have to set up the machine each time I want to use it, so I don't do it often. The challenge on the Whimsy challenge blog is to use some stitching on your card - either real or faux stitching. I faked it and used some rub-ons. The alligator could probably chomp a whole right in my card if he wanted to.

Remember - you don't have to use a Whimsy image, but if you have one, why not use it! The other designers have some great cards - make sure you check those out!Supplies

touchy feely fuzzy bear

I made the Whimsy polar bear into a brown bear this week using some brown fun flock. The Whimsy challenge blog this week has a challenge to make your card touchy feely - add some texture to your cards.

I added some fun flock to the Polar bear to change him to brown, cut him out and used some pop dots to pop him off the card. The sentiment is from Unity stamped in PTI Fresh snow ink. The American Crafts paper goes so well together!

Remember, you don't have to use a Whimsy image for the challenge, but if you have one, why not use it! Don't forget to check out the other designer's cards on the blog too!Supplies

A touch of sparkle - a sparkly pig?

I tried to get the Whimsy pig as sparkly as I could by using Pink shimmerz to color the image. This week our challenge on the Whimsy challenge blog is to make our cards sparkle! Add something sparkly to your card

I used some scraps of My minds Eye paper that I had leftover from a scrapbook page -I'm trying to be better about using my scraps - we'll see how long that lasts!

Remember, you don't have to use a Whimsy image for the challenge - but if you have one, why not use it! Supplies
